Binding
Early modern binding (16th or 17th century) in light yellow parchment with two cloth straps on LCO and RCO. 4 double raised bands and 2 endbands. Head, Tail and fore-edge coloured in red. Spine: In brown ink: ‘Biblia Latina’. Stamped in gold: current signum (‘A 167’). Older paper labels with the following signa: ‘1’, ‘e.30.5.18’. In brown ink: ‘127’ and a paper label with the signum ‘63’ and some illegible text.
The manuscript probably belonged to the Cistercian monastery at Oliwa (see note on f. 361v) in the 15th century. The volume was most likely brought to Sweden as spoils of war during the Thirty Years' War. In the catalogue of 1734 (U 125e, p. 43) listed as no. 1 of the quarto manuscripts.
