Main text in black ink; rubrics and quotations underlined in red; capitals touched in red. Last two folios lack rubrication.
(f. 6v): initial ‘I’ in outline over 2 lines in same ink as text with simple red flourishing in the counter space.
Binding
The booklet is stored in a folded piece of paper. LCO, top left corner in pencil, the current signum; mid page, in ink by a modern hand: ‘Homiliae in dominica quadragesima et sexagesima’.
Origin
Germany? 15th century, last quarter, or 16th century, first quarter. Origin and dating based on comparison of the watermarks to the similar designs recorded by Piccard, vol. XVI, no. 2, chapter VII, nos. 2443–2487, which all date from between 1493 to 1508 (nos. 2443-45 date to 1520/21) and occur in around 30 locations throughout a geographical swath stretching from Braunschweig in the north to Montbéliard in the southwest and Innsbruck in the southeast.
