According to Matthew Norris, the first text ‘Commentarius de linguis variarum gentium’ is a Latin translation of Johannes Bureus’s treatise ‘Afhandling om språkens upkomst och skrifart’ (Treatise on the Origin and Writing of Languages). In the only surviving copy of the treatise (Linköping Diocesan Library, Spr. 1 fol.), text at the end is missing that is present in the Latin translation.
