Provenance

Possibly from the library of the Danish book collector Jörgen Seefeldt (1594-1662), based on the binding and watermark, see Walde (1916–1920), vol. 2, pp. 417–418. According to Ilsøe (1968), p. 12 the watermark is common in the paper used by the Danish administration from 1640 onwards.

The manuscript belonged to the Antiquities Archive and is listed in its inventories and catalogues. There are two identified signa in the manuscript. The older signum ‘N:22’ is found in the inventory from the 1720s (U 90:1, f. 7r). The current signum, ‘A 55’, first established in Helin’s catalogue from the 1720s (U 91:2:2).

Acquisition

Tranferred from the Antiquities Archive to the National Library in 1780. According to a note by Klemming on LCI, the manuscript was lent to the Swedish historian and rikshistoriograf Jonas Hallenberg (1748-1834) who in 1834 donated it to Uppsala University Library together with his other manuscripts. It was returned to the National Library in 1859.
