Main text in brown ink.
(f. S1r): decorated initial ‘O’ over 3 lines. Outlined in ink, colours smudged, but appear to have been mainly green, red and gold. Enclosed in the letter a flower shape with six petals;
decorated initial ‘P’ over 2 lines. Outlined in ink, coloured with red, green, and gold.
Binding
The fragment is mounted on cardboard (f. Board) and stored in a modern folder.
Origin
Italy, Ravenna?, 8th century, first quarter. Place of orgin and dating based on Gamber (1958).
Provenance
Early provenance unknown.
The fragment is related to a fragment kept at the University Library of Wroclaw, Akc. 1955/3.
Acquisition
The fragment was once found in Liber Canonis Avicenne (Venice 1507), where it was discovered by I. Collijn. However, this book has been rebound and contains no traces of previous owners.
